Before and After Your Massage

Getting Ready for your Massage

To get the most enjoyment and benefit from your massage, please inform your massage therapist, when booking, of any health conditions. If you have any questions at all I will be happy to answer them.

Understanding your requirements in advance will lead to a more fulfilled massage experience.

​

You may need to obtain a Doctors referral if you have any of the following health conditions:

​

  • High/ Low Blood Pressure

  • Heart Conditions, Pacemaker, Angina etc

  • Disorders of the Nervous System, Parkinsons, Muscular Sclerosis etc

  • Infectious Disorders

  • Arthritis

  • Diabetes

  • Cancer

  • Pregnancy

  • Recent operations less than 6 Months ago.

  • Recent Fractures

  • Scar Tissue

No Massage can be taken if you have anything contagious, such as

  • Colds

  • Flus

  • Viruses

Please inform your Massage therapist about anything Viral, contagious and of any Verrucas, Styes or Cold sores when booking.

Massage Can help with Relaxing the Muscles and the Mind, Improve Sleep, Stress relief, Pain relief, Increase Circulation, Boost Immunity, Improve Posture and Flexibility, Lower and Balance Blood Pressure, Rehabilitate Injuries, Flush out Toxins, Regulate Blood Sugar Levels.

To Prepare for Your Massage

​

Please shower and ensure you have no alcohol, caffeine, or a heavy meal for at least 2 hours before your massage.  This is to ensure you get the most of the healing benefits.

​

Tell me about any areas of concentration you would like me to work on and if you'd like a silent treatment or to chat.

 

Let me know if my pressure is ok at any time, communicate with me, so I can adjust my pressure and give you the best treatment.

 

Communicate if you feel any discomfort. 

​

You are covered by large bath towels in your massage, not exposing more than one part of the body at a time.

 

You can keep your underwear on.

 

The Massage Bed is heated for your comfort.  I am sensitive to your Modesty and Privacy ensuring your comfort at all times.

After Your Treatment 

​

After Your Massage you should Nurture Yourself, keep warm and relax. Avoid alchol, caffeine and cut down on smoking. Eat a light meal, Drink lots of water and herbal teas to flush out the body.

Occasionally you may experience any of the following after a massage. This is a positive sign the body is healing and symptoms if any should only last 24hrs.

Redness in the skin from massage frictions

going to the toilet more frequently bowel and water works.

headache or Nausea

Tiredness, light headedness, dizziness

energised or sleepy

emotional teary.

a flare up of a previously suppressed condition, as the body heals this area.

spots

achey joints.

​

It is most likely after 24hrs you will feel good. As the body detoxes and heals naturally.

How often to have a Massage

Massage treatments for wellbeing can be taken monthly. If you are treating an ailment at least 4 sessions is recommended, once weekly if possible. Chat to me about a Treatment Plan for you.
